What is a Pulsemeter?

Oxygen liter meters have long been available to spot check continuous flow oxygen delivery systems.  Valley Inspired Products has developed the Pulsemeter to provide clinicians, manufactures, marketers, home care providers, and patients a quick and easy method to spot check their Pulse Dose Oxygen Conserving devices. This includes Pulse Dose Conserving devices in use with:

  • Compressed gas systems
  • Liquid oxygen systems
  • Portable oxygen concentrators
  • Home trans-filling systems

Pulse Dose Oxygen Delivery systems provide a specified volume of oxygen every time a breath is sensed from the patient.  These volumes may differ on Pulse Dose Conserving Devices set to the same numerical setting.  The Pulsemeter provides users the capability to determine and compare the dose volume setting on specific devices or to measure the accuracy of the pulse volume based on the manufacturer's published specifications.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
  • The Pulsemeter is a tool to help determine if the Pulse Dose Conserving Device is delivering the correct volume according to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • When manufacturer's specifications are unavailable, the Pulsemeter can help determine what the setting number on the Pulse Dose Conserving Device selector dial means in terms of dose volume delivery.
  • The Pulsemeter allows for comparison of pulse volumes between different Pulse Dose Conserving Devices - useful for marketing presentations or home care providers in demonstrating dose capabilities.
  • The Pulsemeter enables patients to spot check their Pulse Dose Conserving Devices at home to determine volume accuracy to ensure their device is performing as specified.
  • Pulsemeter is not intended for use with continuous flow oxygen or conserving devices which utilize dual lumen cannulas.
